Acceptable Use Policy

1. About this policy

This Acceptable Use Policy applies to everyone who uses WRDO — people getting things done, businesses, and the people who work for them — on WhatsApp, on the web and in the app. It forms part of our Terms of Use at wrdo.co.za/terms. If you break it, we may act as set out in section 9.

2. Prohibited goods and services

You may not use WRDO to offer, sell, buy, book, pay for or promote: anything illegal in South Africa; weapons, firearms, ammunition or explosives; drugs, drug paraphernalia or unlicensed medicines; adult content or sexual services; gambling, betting or lotteries (other than lawful promotional competitions); cryptocurrency or other virtual assets; counterfeit, stolen or pirated goods; pyramid schemes, multi-level marketing or “get rich quick” schemes; financial, investment or credit services the provider is not licensed to offer; alcohol or other age-restricted products sold to anyone under 18; anything involving exploitation or trafficking of people; or anything else our payment processor does not allow.

3. Fraud and payment misuse

Do not use a card, bank account or identity that isn’t yours or that you aren’t authorised to use; make chargebacks or disputes you know are false; take payment for work you don’t intend to do; split, disguise or route payments to avoid checks or limits; use WRDO to launder money or pay for anything linked to crime; or ask someone to pay outside WRDO in order to deceive them.

4. Bank-detail and payment-change scams

WRDO hides bank details typed in the chat. Businesses on WRDO are paid through our payment processor, to a bank account it has validated. Never ask anyone to pay into a different account, and never pretend to be a business, WRDO or anyone else to change where money goes. If someone asks you to pay into a new or different account, don’t pay: tell WRDO in the chat.

5. Reviews

Reviews must be honest and based on a real job or order. Do not write fake reviews, review yourself or a business you’re connected to, pay or reward anyone for a review, or pressure anyone to change or remove a review.

6. Respect for people

Treat everyone with respect, including workers, car guards, drivers and the people who work in your home. Do not harass, threaten, abuse, discriminate against or exploit anyone; do not withhold pay that was agreed; and do not share anyone’s personal information without their permission.

7. Using WRDO properly

WRDO helps with bookings, orders, payments, deals and local information. Do not try to trick WRDO into doing something else, flood it with messages, use it to send spam or unwanted marketing, copy or scrape it by automated means, probe or attack its systems, or pretend to be WRDO or a business.

8. Extra checks

To protect everyone, WRDO runs extra checks, and may pause a payout, payment or booking while it looks into one of them: when the name on a bank account doesn’t match the business or person being paid; when bank account details change; when an amount is unusually large for that kind of job or order; and when someone has repeated disputes or cancellations. We may ask you for more information.

9. What happens if you break this policy

Depending on how serious it is, we may give you a warning; hold payouts while we review what happened; remove listings, reviews or other content; or suspend or remove your account. Where the law requires it, or to protect someone, we may report the matter to the authorities or to our payment processor. If you think we got it wrong, email [email protected] and a person will look at it again.

10. Reporting a problem

Tell WRDO in the chat, or email [email protected]. We reply to email within 48 business hours.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top tells you when it was last revised.
